"Quality instruction through faculty commitment"
The College of Business and Global Affairs is one of five colleges on the campus of The University of Tennessee at Martin. The programs in business are accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) and houses two academic departments:
The college's main priority is to provide excellent, student-focused education in business disciplines as well as economics, international studies, and political science. Student-faculty interaction is central to this educational process. Moreover, the college emphasizes experiential-learning opportunities, a global outlook, quality graduate instruction, scholarly research, university and professional service, and regional economic development.
The College of Business and Global Affairs offers a variety of degrees and major and minor fields of study. In addition, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is offered on-site and online.
Two endowed chairs, the Horace and Sara Dunagan Chair of Excellence in Banking and the Tom E. Hendrix Chair of Excellence in Free Enterprise, function within the College of Business and Global Affairs.
The Regional Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (REED) Center serves existing and prospective entrepreneurs and supports economic development in rural northwest Tennessee.
In an effort to support and enhance the mission statement of the College, the CBGA Faculty/Student Committee drafted a "Statement of Ethics". This statement has now been adopted as of November 2014 in three separate votes by the College faculty and staff, by the College's Board of Advisors, and by students majoring within the College.
